I stumble in with a grin but smiling is easy when it all goes slow.
Thinking there's not a thing to bring me to my knees I don’t already know.
Now the wind starts to sing, now it’s more than a breeze that wanders in
Making a din and beginning to blow.

Now a storm starts to form, there’s something brewing there’s a crack in the skies
I was warned but I scorned, and now it’s doing just as I was advised

Yesterday’s gone away, and no amount of shouting will bring it here.
No time to waste I can’t wait around counting on tomorrow being clear.
I’ve come a long way, I won’t lay down, I‘ll take the hand of fate and sing out loud,
Dance with the crowd, and do it proud though we’re weighed down in sorrow and in fear.

A great divide opens wide, nowhere to hide, guess I’m here for the ride.
I can’t fight wrong with right, any more than I can hold back the tide.

Since I strode in with a grin it all got faster with each passing day.

Through a wind that can pin you to your mast and leave you castaway?
